Casa del Fuente - Places to Visit
Mirador del Lirio (5 minutes). Fontanar's very own mirador (viewing point). Just follow the signs from the main street. Take your camera and a picnic. The views are unexpected and breathtaking. Lake Negratin (10 minutes). Beaches, swimming, pedaloes and lakeside restaurants. Look out for the mirador - excellent views and barbecues. Naturist beach at Cuevas del Campo. Banos termales, Zujar (20 minutes). A fine restaurant (daytime only) with its own thermal baths on the side of Lake Negratin. Lovely and warm all year round. Baza (25 minutes). Busy, ancient market town. Granada City (90 minutes). Wonderful place to visit, home to the Alhambra Palace and the Albacin. Park up and explore by bus or taxi. Guadix (40 minutes). Ancient town with a fine cathedral and many old houses. Here you will find Europe's largest village of cave houses. "Sparticus" and "Indiana Jones" were filmed here. Tabernas Desert (60 minutes). Europe's only desert. Films such as "Raiders of the Lost Ark", "The Magnificent Seven" and Clint Eastwood's spaghetti Westerns were filmed here.
